Course Overview

This course equips participants with essential skills and knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It is applicable to anyone who might need to provide CPR in various scenarios, including community and workplace settings.

Specific licensing and regulatory requirements, including refresher training, should be confirmed with relevant national, state, or territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Face-to-face and Online Training
Training will be delivered face to face within a classroom and online using online platform and utilities

Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
is an accredited short course. A Certificate of Completion will be provided upon completion.

Entry Requirements

This course is intended for:

  • Aged 18 years or above.
  • Those wishing to complete CPR training for personal reasons such as assisting family members
  • Those from corporate environments as first aid officers within companies,
  • Those working in public offices such as council, community services, schools.
  • Other occupations such as restaurants, cafes, pubs and in agriculture.
  • Existing workers who need this qualification for their job
  • School leavers and/or new entrants to the workplace who wish to gain a qualification for the purpose of getting a job

Entry requirements may include:

  • Language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills (LLND test may apply)

Students will need to meet the Selection Criteria requirements to be eligible to enter into this course. Evidence of the student meeting the Selection Criteria will be collected as part of the Enrolment process.

  • Completed LLN test or for international students:
    • Minimum IELTS score of 6, or TOEFL score of 35, or Cambridge English: Advanced 134, or Pearson Test of English Academic 36 or Occupational English test D unless qualifying for exemptions listed on the Department of Home Affairs website: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/gettinga-visa/visa-listing/student-500#Eligibility
  • Must be over the age of 18 years Relevant prior training and/or employment
  • Due to the physical requirements of this unit the student must have the ability to perform CPR on a manikin
  • Students will be required to provide their own digital devices, able to access reliable internet and have video recording capabilities to record and submit assessment. Including access to:
    • Internet access through Google Chrome or other internet browsers
    • MS Word, MS PowerPoint or equivalent applications
    • Adobe Acrobat Reader
